Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains what information WordTools Pro ("we", "us") collects when you use wordtoolspro.com, why, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • Text you enter into our tools never leaves your device. All tools run in your web browser. We do not receive, store or log the text, code, files or data you paste or upload into them.
  • We use Google Analytics to count visits and understand which tools are used, and we may use Google AdSense to show advertising. These services use cookies or similar technologies, subject to your consent where the law requires it.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not ask you to create an account.

Information processed in your browser

When you use a tool, processing happens locally using JavaScript. Some tools remember settings such as your theme or cookie choices in your browser's local storage. That information stays on your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand how many people visit the site, which pages and tools they use, roughly where they are (country or city level), what devices and browsers they use and how they arrived. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, which Google uses to determine location and does not log or store in Google Analytics. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are only set if you accept them. We use Google Consent Mode, which means that if you decline, Google may receive cookieless signals that do not identify you. You can read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google's browser add-on.

Advertising

To keep the tools free, we may display ads provided by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Where consent is required, ads will only be personalised if you agree; otherwise, any ads shown will be non-personalised.

Cookies

Details of the cookies we and our partners use are in our cookie policy. You can change your choices at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.

Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)

We rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interests in operating a secure, working website for essential storage such as remembering your theme and cookie choices.

How long data is kept

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond and for our records.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, UK GDPR and California privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent at any time, to data portability and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of personalised advertising, use the cookie settings link or the opt-out links above.

Because we do not collect your tool input or ask you to register, we usually hold very little information that can identify you. To make a request, email support@wordtoolspro.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International transfers

Google may process data in the United States and other countries. Google relies on approved safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if our practices change, and revise the date at the top.
